Cell Phone News – ABI: Sprint expected to ship 3 million 4G smartphones in 2010

According to ABI Research, Sprint is expected to ship as many as 3 million 4G capable smartphones for the year. “Sprint’s 4G smartphone sales have been partially responsible for its recent subscriber growth. ABI Research forecasts that the carrier will ship almost three million 4G handsets for its WiMAX network by the end of 2010. That number is greater than many observers expected,” ABI Research director Philip Solis said. Sprint’s 4G WiMAX network is now available in 62 U.S. cities. Its New York network was activated on November 1. Sprint’s 4G smartphones include the HTC EVO 4G and the Samsung Epic 4G.Read the full story here.
