Cell Phone News – FCC Votes Unanimously on White Space Spectrum Rules

The FCC today voted unanimously to approve all of the final rules that will allow unused radio spectrum from television broadcasts to be used as so called “White Space” spectrum. The FCC set aside provisions that would require new white space devices to include spectrum sensing hardware, and also cleared space in empty channels for wireless microphones used in TV broadcasting. The white space approval has backing from major tech manufacturers and service providers like Dell, Microsoft and Google.
